dont forget Ultimo dragon
The Rock and Stone Cold without a doubt, even ppl who don’t watch wrestling know them. But world wide it’s definetly Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan,The Rock,SCSA,Jeff Hardy,Flair,Shawn MIchaels,Andre,Undertaker.
And last but not least.
VINCE MCMAHON!
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in my Country everyone knows Undertaker, even they don’t watch wrestling.
in the world Hogan is the most popular
hulk hogan orrock because even nonwrestling fans know theme
The Rock tops all. Some my non-wrestling fans friends know him more than they know Hulk and Stone Cold
I dont think Goldberg, not everyone would know him, actually hardly anyone knows him! I also wouldn’t put Lesnar as a “close call”… Also, i would put undertaker, everyone knows him, fan or not..
Definetly Hulk Hogan that guy is known around the world no doubt.
Ric Flair and Harley Race are known in countries where WWE Wrestlers have never set foot. The NWA World Heavyweight Champions did defend their titles world-wide. The early WWWF Champions never wrestled outside the continental United States and Hulk Hogan rarely defended his title overseas. I don’t remember Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels or Diesel defending the WWF/WWE Championship overseas. On the other hand, Bret the Hitman Hart and Macho Man Randy Savage did defend the WWE Championship in other countries.
The 10 Wrestlers you named are well-know among wrestling fans in the United States, but not necessarily among fans around the globe. The Great Khali received a heroes welcome in India. Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Rock and Triple H could fly to India today and almost no one would know them.
Rikidozan in Japan & Santo in the Hispanic world. Rikidozan had a match with the Destroyer in 1963 that drew a 67.0 rating. Think about that. 67.0! That’s a LOT of people.
Santo was so popular in Mexico that they named an annual tournament after him.
I know most people are probably like “Rikidozan? Santo?” but you did say, “the world.”
In America, definitely Hulk Hogan. He became popular in Japan early in his career too.
